Kymäna
KYMÄNA’s thrilling adventure began in August 2022 in a humble neighbourhood of Zaragoza city, called “El Arrabal”; which means literally: the Slum.
There is a creative studio was settled to accommodate MLS ingenious toil developing several artistic proposals. A workshop, an atelier, opened at a little gleaming corner site in the Northeast of Spain.
The name, KYMÄNA, springs from MLS inventive, evoking multiple language sounds, which take roots in her multicultural background, diverse sensitivity and inner universe.
“I’m an Artist, there’s no cure”, once said Gaston Chaissac. After having long rejected to define herself with this word because she felt comfortable with the more acurate and less superflous term creator, MLS finally, had decided to define herself as a multidisciplinary artist.
MLS was born near Paris, and after studying in Nantes, she moved to Zaragoza where she currently lives. In the meanwhile, the year 2012 she spent few months in London, where she discovered the galleries of the city, especially Mayfair ones, in which she was introduced to an eclectic, open-minded and limitless artistic world.
MLS has no academic training, she explores, tries, and conceives from the guts; in quite a continuous catharsis; her creations as a result are so close to Art Brut.
MLS works aim to express a very personal and poetic language, as naif as intellectualized, which depicts her unique way to observe our world and society nowadays. A message, in her pieces, not only filled with irony sometimes, but always showing the ambivalences of human beings, no matter who they are or where they come from.
